Understanding Biblical Terminology
Introduction
The Holy Bible is the Word of God. The Holy Bible is God explaining to you His Creation, who you are, why you experience what you do in the world, why you battle with your mind, why people do what they do, and how God desires for you to live your life and experience life in relationship with His Son Jesus Christ.
God is spirit. You have a spirit. Not only is there the physical realm that we see with our eyes and that we live in each day of our life, there is also a spiritual realm.
If we try to read the Holy Bible with our own human wisdom, most if not all of what we read simply won’t make any sense. Reading the Holy Bible with human wisdom will lead to us to interpret what we are reading literally, without any comprehension that there is a spiritual realm, and that our Father wants us to gain personal revelation of His Word, for our own life personally. For this we need the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit dwelling within us, whether or not we have yet become born-again, is what makes the Word of God come alive, it is what makes us know we are reading the truth, it is what provides us with personal revelation and meaning of the scriptures for our own lives.
It is only when we first approach the Holy Bible from a place of comprehending that everything we see in the physical realm is also in the spiritual realm, and that the Word of God is firstly describing events taking place in the spirit realm, that we can begin to make sense of often what is profoundly supernatural and often extreme terminology and stories.
Here are some words or terms from the Holy Bible, followed by an explanation of how you can derive personal meaning from them - very likely words which until now, you have only really seen as words describing worldwide events, and not personal events which change the path of your life and understanding of your life.
“End Days”
From when you and I were born with our sin nature, we began living in our End Days. The term “End Days” is describing our life experiences up until that great and terrible day of the Lord, when He rescues us from our sin nature and weak flesh, to bring us into His glorious light.
“The Great & Terrible Day of The Lord”
This day is the day when the Lord opens the Heavens and comes down to rescue us individually from sin and darkness. If like myself you have already given your life to Jesus and you are serving Him daily, this great and terrible day has already happened to you. If you haven’t yet been born-again, this day is coming very, very soon to you, in Jesus name I pray!!!
“The Last Hour”
The last hour represents the final period of our life before we finally surrender our life to Jesus Christ, when we receive Him into our lives as our Lord and Saviour. As I write these words now in May 2022, the Last Hour is upon hundreds of millions if not billions of men, women and children walking the earth today, ALL glory to God.
“Antichrist”
Up until we receive Jesus Christ into our lives as our Lord and Saviour, we are Antichrist, as we are exalting ourselves above the one true living God. We are living with pride, putting ourselves at the centre of our life, and not our Creator, God Almighty, the Lord of lords, the King of kings, the Alpha and the Omega.
“The Church”
You, as a child of the living God, as a born-again follower of Jesus Christ, following the will of God, serving the Lord each day, being His hands and feet, walking by faith and not by sight, dying to your flesh each day, and being a glory carrier for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
“The Great Tribulation”
The profound life-changing experience where we go from living life in sin and darkness, living self-centredly, to going through a period or moment in our life when we comprehend that we are in fact nothing without our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The great tribulation can be related to going through immense darkness, feeling lost, feeling condemned, feeling hopeless, feeling like there is no meaning in life, feeling like you can’t go any longer, until the Lord lifts the veil, removes the scales from our eyes, and we realise that we are actually a child of the living God.
“Sorrows”
Similar in ways to “the great tribulation”, up until we are saved by the grace of God, so often God allows us to hit rock bottom for us to realise that He is the rock at the bottom. Often it takes people to experience profound sorrow and suffering in order to be taken to a place of total surrender and humility, accepting that we are literally nothing without our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Since early 2020, billions of people have been experiencing suffering and sorrows unlike they have experienced before, and God is allowing all this to bring His people from living with pride, exalting themselves above God, to a place of feeling helpless, hopeless, overwhelmed, lost and not able to trust in people. This includes church going men and women, who before 2020 hadn’t truly and fully surrendered their life to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
“The Terrors”
In the book of Revelation we read about terrors coming upon the earth. These terrors are describing the individual terrors that people experience in their life which bring them to a place of total humility. These terrors are life experience which bring pain and suffering in to peoples lives who have been living in sin, denying God and His Son Jesus Christ, and instead they have been living with pride, exalting themselves above the one true living God.
“Revelation”
Revelation is when the veil is lifted from you, when the scales fall from your eyes and you begin to comprehend that you are a child of God, that Jesus Christ the Son of God surrendered His life on the cross for you, that you are chosen and not forsaken, and that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Saviour, and you begin to follow Him and serve Him.
Revelation is realising that you are living in God’s miracle Creation, and that you are a miracle creation of God.
Revelation is realising God sent His one and only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for you.
Revelation is realising that God has numbered every hair on your head.
Revelation is realising that God’s thoughts for you outnumber the grains of sand.
Revelation is realising that God has plans for your life, plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Revelation is realising that you are chosen and not forsaken.
Revelation is realising that you and your whole family have been lied to throughout your life.
Revelation is realising that the Big Bang is a profound deception.
Revelation is realising that men haven’t walked on the moon.
Revelation is realising that gravity is a deception.
Revelation is realising that the earth isn’t a spinning globe flying through space at 67,000mph, and the earth is in fact stationary.
Revelation is realising the sun isn’t 109 times wider than the earth.
Revelation is realising that the sun isn’t over 90million miles from earth.
Revelation is realising that the Holy Spirit will lead you into ALL truth.
“Jerusalem”
Jerusalem is the world you live in here on earth from when you were born with your sin nature, experiencing life in this fallen world following the power and dictates of your sin nature. Whilst living in Jerusalem before being saved and set free by the grace of God, life is full of ups and downs, trials and tribulations, pain, suffering, battling with your mind, battling with addictions, battling with lust, pride, envy and other sins.
“New Jerusalem”
New Jerusalem is the world you live in here on earth from you were born-again, baptised by the Holy Spirit, and surrendered with all your heart to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, being led by the power and glory of the Holy Spirit. Once you are saved and set free there is no going back to living life in Jerusalem, as you have been called by name, chosen and set apart.
From when you are born-again, the Lord by His Holy Spirit begins in you a complete transformation of how you think, feel and act. You continue being transformed from the inside out, as you are moving from living in your old wineskins, your old self, your old identity, to starting to walk and talk with your new identity which is in Jesus Christ, and in Jesus Christ alone.
“The Promised Land”
The Promised Land is God’s promise to you and me that we will live in joy and peace here on earth, surrendered to the Lord, worshipping in spirit and in truth, walking in love, walking by faith and not by sight, living knowing that God works in ALL things for good for those who love God and who live according to His purpose for them. The Promised Land is experiencing life truly in the spirit, knowing all God’s promises are yes and amen, that God never lies, and that in His perfect time, He makes ALL THINGS BEAUTIFUL.
“The Kingdom of Heaven”
You, as a child of the living God, as a born-again follower of Jesus Christ, following the will of God, serving the Lord each day, being His hands and feet, walking by faith and not by sight, dying to your flesh each day, and being a glory carrier for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
